Switzerland international midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri joins Olympique Lyonnais on a permanent transfer both clubs have confirmed .

Liverpool FC midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri is joining Olympique Lyonnais – OL in a £9.5million (€11m/$15m) deal.

Xherdan Shaqiri joins Olympique Lyonnais

The clubs have agreed a fee for the 29-year-old, who has been given permission to travel to France to finalise his transfer. Personal terms, it is understood, are already agreed.

Shaqiri will leave having made 63 appearances for the Reds since joining from Stoke City Football Club in 2018, and as a Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League winner.

Olympique Lyonnais Signs Shaqiri

Shaqiri will be joining his seventh club in his professional career since making his senior debut for basel II in 2007.

The swiss International winger has since then played for Basel , Bayern munich , inter milan , Stoke city And Liverpool.

However it was his stints with bayern munich and liverpool that produced most of his trophy with a few coming during his time with swiss side basel

Xherdan will now be hoping to explore the french league and hope to play on a regular basis in france after felling out of the picking order at Liverpool in a star studded team .
