6 Players To Leave Manchester United As Free Agents This Summer Finally Revealed

With their contracts expiring in June, about 6 Manchester United players would likely be exiting Old Trafford in the summer if no new agreement is reached on their respective deals. Here are the players in question;

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard has moved into the last 6 months of his contract with Man United. The Englishman is trying to push for a loan move before the end of the transfer window but isn’t being given one by the club.

Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba is another one running down his contract. He is yet to start contract talks with the Red Devils and hasn’t shown any desire to do so either.

However, the Sun recently reported that the Frenchman can sign a new deal if Rangnick is made a permanent manager. That is unlikely to happen, which is why it looks likely that Pogba will leave as a free agent once the season is over.

Edinson Cavani

Edinson Cavani’s stint at Old Trafford could be over after this season. The Uruguayan signed a one-year contract extension last summer but saw his role reduced after Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival.

He only stayed in January after Rangnick requested him to. Cavani is likely to have a last hurrah in his career at another club and could return to South America to spend more time with his close ones.

Juan Mata only signed a one-year deal last summer after being promised he still has a role in the squad. He’s started just 2 games this season and has not made a single appearance in the Premier League.

The Spaniard was being linked to a return to Spain recently, but no club is willing to pay a transfer fee for him right now. Mata is likely to end his United journey in the summer and join another club to get more game-time.

Tahith Chong

Tahith Chong’s season was prematurely ended in October when he suffered a nasty injury while on loan at Birmingham City. His contract is also expiring in June, but United have the option to extend it for another year.

They’re likely to do that and give their next manager a chance to assess Chong’s ability and decide whether or not he has a future at Old Trafford.

Lee Grant’s only appearances came in pre-season matches. He’s not even been in matchday squads multiple times this season. It’s safe to say Grant’s paid vacation at United will end once his contract expires after this season.
