As per the reliable Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are ‘pushing’ to sign Erling Haaland.
Pep Guardiola wants the young striker at ‘all costs’. The City team is already world-class but they lack a top-quality striker and Haaland will fill that gap.
The tier-one journalist adds that the race is ‘still open’ with Real Madrid and City the two clubs battling for Erling Haaland’s signature – Chelsea are not named as an interested party.
The final decision will be up to Haaland but the financials of the deal are no problem for Man City, who have one of the richest owners in football.
Previously, Thomas Tuchel admitted that Chelsea were interested in Haaland last summer. Given the huge asking price, however, the Blues decided to sign Romelu Lukaku.
The Norwegian is football’s next superstar and has 80 goals and 22 assists in 84 games for Dortmund – it would definitely not be ideal if City, our direct rivals, were to sign him.
