As per reliable Chelsea journalist Nathan Gissing, the Blues are monitoring Frenkie de Jong’s situation with Barcelona.
Barcelona wants to sell the midfielder this summer to recuperate the money they have spent on incoming transfers and stabilize the club’s wage structure.
De Jong has rejected a move to Manchester United and as per Spanish news source Mundo Deportivo, he wants to stay at Barca.
However, should he be forced to leave, only two clubs interest him – Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
Gissing adds that Todd Boehly likes De Jong and Thomas Tuchel has given the green light for his transfer, should it become feasible for the club.
In other news from the reliable Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are all about announcing the deal for another Barcelona forward Memphis Depay, who is also a Dutch. It is understood that Chelsea could lose Timo Werner this summer having lost Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan on loan earlier.
