Cody Gakpo Sends New Message To Man United After Failed Transfer From PSV Last Summer

Speaking to the Times, Cody Gakpo said: “I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United.

“In the end, the deal didn’t go through, which was a shame, for me and my development, because Man United is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“But it was also a shame for PSV Eindhoven because to transfer a player to Man United is a good thing for the club.

“It ended a week before the end of the transfer window and I had to decide if I would go to Leeds or Southampton. I stayed, but it was a stressful period.”

Man United reportedly has personal terms agreed with Gakpo but bringing in Antony from Ajax was always Ten Hag’s main goal last summer.

The PSV forward has been in sensational form after his Old Trafford move fell though, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in 18 games in 2022/23.
