David Moyes Sends Declan Message To Chelsea As He Discusses Antonio Rudiger After 1-0 Loss

It was reported earlier this week that Declan Rice rejected West Ham’s latest contract offer, understood to be worth around £200,000-a-week.

Chelsea are heavily linked with the midfielder but David Moyes insists he is not for sale.

“Maybe he just wants more money,” said Moyes. “People do turn down contracts. It is not unusual for players at clubs to turn down contracts, maybe it is a negotiation tactic.”

“We like Dec and he’s got three and a half years to go on his contract, so I don’t think there is any big panic.

“We’ve got three and a half years, so it isn’t the biggest priority. We’ve got other priorities, trying to add to the squad and get other positions in.”

Antonio Rudiger Finally Chooses Another Club Over Chelsea As He Sets To Leave For Free

Thomas Tuchel confirmed that Antonio Rudiger will leave Chelsea on free transfer this summer.

“The difference is that he, Rudiger, is out of contract. We’ve got 3.5 years to go [with Rice]. That is the difference,” Moyes said.

“We’ve said before that we’ve got no intention of selling so I don’t know why you keep asking.”
