De Gea Finally Explains Why He Could Not Save A Single Penalty During Shootout Vs Brighton

David de Gea deserves flowers for his performance throughout the 120 minutes at Wembley as he made several important stops on Brighton players.

He failed to save a single penalty in the shootout (not that we expected him to, considering his record). The shootout was decided by Solly March’s effort that went over the bar. Yet the Spaniard insisted that he had a role in United’s shootout victory.

“They were great penalties. I was prepared as always. I tried to put pressure on the takers,” the keeper told the BBC.

“It was a very tight game we played a very good team. Brighton play really good football. We are now in the final but we have another big game on Thursday so we need to go home and recover.”

“I cannot say. I cannot,” Dave added when quizzed on what he told March before he skied his penalty.
