Gareth Southgate Finally Sends Out Message After England Fans Booed Man United Captain Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire played a key role for England in their 3-0 friendly win over the Ivory Coast, having a part in his country’s first two goals.

However, some fans were not pleased with his performance as loud boos rang through the stadium whenever Maguire touched the ball.

Even before kick-off, boos were heard when his name was called out. And reacting to the unfortunate situation, Gareth Southgate was not happy after the game.

The England boss told Sky Sports: “I thought the reception [for Maguire] was a joke. An absolute joke. I don’t get it.

“What he has done for us is phenomenal. We’re either all in this together or we’re not.

“He’s in an England shirt and not only should you support a player in an England shirt regardless but, when you have played to the level he has and put in the performances he has, it should be total commitment.”
