Eriksen Finally Reveals What He Told Ten Hag When Asked To Replace Injured Marcel Sabitzer

When asked about how he felt about having to start the Nottingham Forest in short notice due to Marcel Sabitzer’s injury in the warm-up sessions, Christian Eriksen said: “Mentally, I was ready [to start].

“I didn’t get a lot of notice [starting the game.] The players did some finishing at the end, that’s always the last drill before they do some sprints and go in. Before they finished, I heard Marcel [Sabitzer] was hurt.

“At the time I didn’t know if I was going to be picked or not, I was told just to be ready. On the way in, Fletch [Darren Fletcher], said it was me, which was fine.”

Eriksen was initially going to start the game from the bench but proved himself as a proper professional by preparing himself well to start the game.

He went on to dominate the Forest midfielders, putting in an impressive display and running the show with Bruno Fernandes.
