When asked about what he feels is his ideal position at Man United, Christian Eriksen told Politiken: “During that period we were probably searching – also for my own part. I played many different positions in a very short time.
“First a little striker and then down in defensive midfield. In recent matches, I have played as an 8, and it suits me very well.
“It’s great that we’ve come back on top with wins, which have been good for us and created a bit of confidence.”
Eriksen started the Premier League season operating as a false no.9, which is absolutely not the ideal position for him.
He even struggled playing as a defensive midfielder in the 4-0 loss to Brentford and Erik ten Hag has since constantly played him in a midfield pivot – in the role he loves playing the most.
The Danish midfielder has been among United’s best performers so far this season, registering 2 assists in 8 appearances and running the midfield admirably well.
