Fire Razes Market to ashes on Saturday at the Traders at Oja-Oba market in Ikirun of Ifelodun Local Government Area of Osun State as Traders weep bitterly over their loses.
The incident which destroyed over a billion worth of properties in the are as even local residents took to their heels for safety.

Resident at the scene of the incident, tried to curtail the fire but their efforts wasn’t enough to quench the fire , as all effort to contact firefighters in Ikirun and Osogbo proved abortive as the latter’s cell phones were said to be unreachable.
According to an eyewitness who was present at the scene said “the fire could not be quenched for several hours as all means to reach the state fire services yielded no positive result by those who first put calls across to them.”
However a man who identified himself as Mr Adelakun Alabi , said that the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Osun Fire Service, Mrs Adijat Basirat, was later contacted , but the fire has already created a big havoc before the fire service team arrived.
Another person confirming the incident was the police public relation officer (PRO) , Mrs Yemisi Opalola said immediately the command was contacted over the incident , they swung into action to prevent looting in the market.
However what led to the fire outbreak is yet unknown , as Traders are still counting their loses to the fire .
