Gary Neville Explains How Manchester United Have Benefitted From Cristiano Ronaldo’s Exit

“I think coming through the situation with Cristiano, coming through the situation with (Harry) Maguire and overcoming the difficult start,” Gary Neville said when describing how Man United have benefitted after Cristiano Ronaldo’s untimely exit.

“They have all bonded together more than what they would have done with an ordinary or normal start. Ten Hag is now in a strong position to call the shots, but they need a striker.

“But they look like they have something – a bit of experience in midfield with Christian Eriksen, Casemiro and Fernandes. They look wiser. Rashford is in form – they need a centre forward but they have forwards in form.  Defensively not that strong – but they’re doing OK,” he added.

United have won all their competitive matches since resuming their campaign and have been able to score 9 goals in their last 4 games after Ronaldo’s departure.

The Red Devils remain on the hunt for a new striker, but are reportedly only looking to sign one on loan due to a lack of funds in January.
