Robert Lewandowski Names Favourite Player To Win The Ballon d’Or In 2023 After World Cup Performance

“[Is the 2023 Ballon d’Or winner clear already?] Of course,” Robert Lewandowski has told Mundo Deportivo.

“There is maybe one more player [Mbappe] who plays for the same club [PSG], but there is only one World Cup that decides who is going to win it this season.

“Leo [Messi] is now in the top position, for sure, because he has achieved what means everything to him. Now he can enjoy it,” the Pole concluded.

Robert Lewandowski seemed bitter about missing out on the Ballon d’Or in 2021 when he lost the vote to Messi. However, this seems no longer the case as the striker readily acknowledges the Argentine’s greatness.

The 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony will only take place next autumn.
