According to The Sun, Man United have ‘instructed agents’ to find the best free agents who will be on the market this summer.
There’s an understanding that United will have to undergo a major rebuild after this season. However, the club does not have a bottomless pit of cash.
Reports in the media offer varying information as to how much Erik ten Hag will be allowed to spend in his first transfer window at United. In any case, that might not be enough for a full-scale rebuild.
That’s why United might chase free agents. It’s not clear who exactly might be targeted, although some of the players likely to be on the market have been linked with the club in the past – like Paulo Dybala or Ousmane Dembele.
There will be plenty of other players who should become free agents this summer – including Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard who might’ve been targeted by United if they played for some other club.
