Ogunkoya Falilat was born on 5th of December 1968 in Ode Lemo, Ogun State Nigeria is a Nigerian former track and field Athlete who made the nation proud.

At the track event at the 1996 Olympic Games, Falilat Ogunkoya crossed the finish line at 49.10 seconds in women’s 400m race final to win bronze medal thus becoming the Nigerian athlete with a first personal medal.

Falilat also won a silver medal in women’s 4x400m relay at the same Atlanta 1996 Games alongside her compatriots; Charity Opara, Fatima Yusuf, and Olabisi Afolabi.
Making her to be one of the only three Nigerian athletes in history who are double Olympic medalist. Fellow double medalist are Mary Onyali and Enefiok Udo-Obong.
Falilat ogunkoya before retiring from the field , won medals from various athletics events such as african championship , world junior championship , olympics and the All african games.
