Michael Owen Sends Critical Message To Erik ten Hag After Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man United Exit

Speaking to Amazon Prime before the Nottingham Forest game on Tuesday, Michael Owen said: “That’s the problem [scoring goals]. I hear Erik ten Hag talking about Marcus Rashford probably needs to score 20 goals.

“Well, they had 20 goals sat right under his nose in Cristiano Ronaldo but, unfortunately, he was sat on the bench a lot of the time. The way things were going, there had to be an end to it, but it didn’t have to be like that.

“He could have played him every week and then he would have solved this problem of scoring goals and that’s the point. You either play Ronaldo every week or you don’t. If you don’t, then he’s no good at your club.”

Ironically, Manchester United proceeded to make Owen eat his words by scoring three goals against Forest and securing yet another win in the Premier League.

As for Ronaldo, the 37-year-old currently finds himself without a club but everything points to the fact that he’s likely to join Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
