Omonia Coach Tells Erik ten Hag Why He Should Not Start Ronaldo In Their Europa League Clash

Omonia coach Neil Lennon says he would prefer if Erik ten Hag doesn’t start Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday. When asked if Ronaldo should start, the Northern Irishman said “Always without Ronaldo”.

He added, “See what he did on Sunday. He is switched on for the goal, he makes that run and you think ‘goal’. He has done that so many times. I said last week Man Utd will need Ronaldo as the season goes on.”

On the Red Devils’ improvement under Ten Hag, he said “Last few years very inconsistent. But there is a definite subtle change. At Everton, they were excellent. Very composed. Should have won by more. Seeing a different Man Utd now from the cataclysmic efforts last year. Casemiro a great signing.”

Lennon’s side lost 3-2 last week in Cyprus. They face a rejuvenated United side at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been reduced to only but a Europa League starter this season under Erik ten Hag. However, it seems the Portuguese is at the verge of turning fortune around for himself and he regains full match fitness.
