Speaking on the changes he made to his starting XI for the Leeds United game, Ralf Rangnick said: “We’ve brought Jesse (Lingard) and Aaron (Wan-Bissaka) to start with experience.
“They’ve played against Leeds in former times and Jesse looked sharp in training. He’s got a lot of experience, can cover the pitch, and hopefully score goals – that’s what he did in training and that’s why he’s deserved to play today.
“Jesse’s behaved as a professional that’s why he deserves to play for us today.”
Lingard makes his first Premier League start for Man United since New Year’s Day 2020 and his first of the league campaign so far.
Wan-Bissaka also makes his first outing after being benched by Diogo Dalot for the last 8 games.
