According to The Sun, Save the Children, one of Britain’s leading charities, has distanced itself from Cristiano Ronaldo who was known to be its ambassador.
“Cristiano Ronaldo has been a supporter of Save the Children’s work for impoverished families around the world,” Save the Children said in a statement
“He has not worked with Save the Children since July 2018 and is no longer a Save the Children ambassador.”
The attention to Ronaldo’s charity work was drawn after he was accused of ‘assaulting’ a young Everton fan after the game at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Police have opened an investigation, while the fan’s mother has slammed Ronaldo for what she claims to be a ‘rude’ apology attempt.
