Guardiola Makes Comparison Between Solskjaer’s Man United Side And Ten Hag’s Current Side Ahead Of Derby
“It’s Man United! With Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] they were close [to getting it right],” Pep Guardiola said ahead of the Manchester derby.
“What happens in the previous seasons, I don’t know what happens. It’s normal United are there, still there, fighting.
“Nobody said they would be there; they are there because they have to be. It doesn’t surprise me. It’s why this competition [Premier League] is so difficult.”

Solskjaer managed United from March 2019 until November 2021.
In his first full season in charge, he guided United to a third-placed finish, securing UEFA Champions League qualification for the 2020/21 campaign.
However the 2020/21 campaign saw United finish second in the Premier League – 12 points behind champions Manchester City – while the Red Devils also lost the Europa League final to Villarreal on penalties.
