Speaking about Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from Man United for the first time, Erik ten Hag told MUTV: “He’s gone and it’s the past.

“We are now looking forward and we’re looking to the future.”

Ten Hag doesn’t appear to be that gutted by the departure of the Portuguese forward, which is understandable after the way the 37-year-old insulted him in his interview with Piers Morgan.

The gaffer is focused on helping his side enjoy a strong second half of the season and help them get back to winning trophies rather than increasing his beef with Ronaldo.

Meanwhile, the drama around Cristiano Ronaldo had seemed to continue with his national team side after he was dropped by manager Fernando Santos for Portugal Vs Switzerland Round of 16 game on Tuesday.

Earlier in the last group game Vs South Korea, the Portugal captain was substituted midway through the second half but he seemed to be angry with his manager for that gesture, which Santos later pointed out in the Round of 16 pre-match interview.

With the recent developments, one cannot blame Man United manager Erik ten Hag for reducing the 37-year-old to bench role towards the end of his Manchester United career.
