According to The Metro, Cristiano Ronaldo is ‘set to start’ our first Europa League game of the season against Real Sociedad on Thursday.
Erik ten Hag has benched Ronaldo in our last four Premier League clashes, opting to use younger players like Anthony Elanga, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
Ten Hag will make several changes to the Manchester United line-up when we play Sociedad this Thursday, considering we play Crystal Palace again on Sunday.
And Ronaldo, who has started just one Premier League game this term, is up for a start against Sociedad.
If he plays, the 37-year-old will feature in the Europa League for the first time since 2003.
Not playing in the Champions League was the reason why Ronaldo wanted to leave United. With no clubs willing to sign him though, the Portuguese superstar has little choice but to continue.
