Ten Hag Names 3 Things He Wants To Do For Man United In January Including Replacing Ronaldo

A busy January transfer window awaits Erik ten Hag with some big decisions to make.

The Manchester United boss overlooked a fairly successful window in the summer. However, here are three pressing concerns he must address next month.

1. Replace Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo’s exit from the club has left Ten Hag with the huge task of finding a new striker.

Cody Gakpo has been linked to United so far but he’s not a traditional No.9. We do have Anthony Martial but his injury issues have hampered his progress over the years.

Time will be of the essence though as the January window ends in a month’s time.

2. Getting rid of deadwood

In 2023, we still have players like Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams and Phil Jones on our payroll even though it’s been a long time since they’ve actually played for the senior team.

Cutting them out of the picture would free up funds for United to sign new players and also help trim our bloated squad.

3. Sort out the goalkeeping situation

And finally, Ten Hag must sort out the goalkeeping unit especially with the club yet to trigger the one-year extension on David De Gea’s deal.

De Gea has been our undisputed No.1 but his contract expires next summer, with no apparent resolution on his future.

Yann Somer has been touted as a potential replacement but the jury is still out on whether it’s the end of Dave’s time at Old Trafford.
