When asked about whether he feels Man United need new signings after the 4-0 humiliation against Brentford, Erik ten Hag said: “New signings? Yes. We need new players and quality players. We will try and convince them to join us.

“Only when we stick together we will overcome it. The manager is the main responsibility and I take that.”

With just over two weeks remaining in the summer transfer window, United must work hard to get in multiple signings and fix the squad after the awful start to the season.
