Erik ten Hag Told Why He Should Be Playing Harry Maguire At Man United After World Cup Performances

Speaking on talkSPORT radio, former Premier League midfielder Andy Townsend said: “Harry Maguire will be going back to Manchester United in much better shape mentally.

“He will go back with a completely different frame of mind. He’s found a lot more of his game, there’s still a lot of room for improvement, but he’s found his game, which had deserted him for a long while.

“It’s been very, very tough for him, so fair play to Harry for that. He didn’t let anybody down at the World Cup, he did his job and he did it well. He’s still got gears to find, but he will go back to Man United now a different player.”

Maguire remains a key player for England despite losing his place in the starting XI at Old Trafford under new Man United manager Erik ten Hag.

The skipper had a successful 2022 World Cup campaign but Ten Hag is still likely to stick with Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez at center-back.
