Why Man United Sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Midway Through The Season Finally Revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo had a say in sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and not appointing Antonio Conte as his successor, reports the MEN.

He did not want the club to bring in the Italian boss and his opinion was sent to the Manchester United board, who decided not to appoint Conte. Instead, Ralf Rangnick joined as interim manager.

Now that Rangnick has struggled to deliver results, the board have finalized the appointment of Erik ten Hag – this time, without consulting any of the players including Ronaldo.

The MEN claims that Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes spoke to Ed Woodward about sacking Solskjaer after the humiliating 5-0 loss to Liverpool last October.

The Norwegian left the very next month and with Ronaldo not keen on Conte, the club reportedly used rumors of Zinedine Zidane taking charge as a ‘tactic’ to appease Ronaldo.

At the time, several reports had stated that Ronaldo gave his approval for Zidane to take charge. But the club opted to bring in Rangnick instead and now Ten Hag.
