Yaba college of technology ( YABATECH) wins best poly in Nigeria for the second time in 2021 According to the latest edition of the Webometrics ranking released in July.
NAN disclosed , the institution’s media relations officer Felix Alade , broke the news in a statement on Tuesday.
In a statement The ranking was based on web contents impact, top-cited research and papers published on research and publication platforms online

It added that the primary objective of the ranking web was to promote open access to the knowledge generated by institutions.

The institution has been able to carry out strategies to improve her ranking through the increase in the quantity and quality of the web content,” it said.
According to statement the ranking, which started in 2004, is currently in its 18th year of publication.
adding that the ranking was aimed at offering full coverage of higher institutions in whatever country or discipline involved.
About 31 institutions from over 200 countries in the world were included in the July edition of the ranking.
It revealed that the editors of the ranking web include scientists working at one world-class public research institution with long experience in metrics-guided evaluation.
Yabatech deputy registrar Joe Ejiofor while reacting to the achievement said the development is indicative of the polytechnic’s strides under Femi Omokungbe, its rector.
He disclosed “The news came to us as a surprise and at the same time a welcome development, the Rector and management are very happy with this latest web ranking,” he said.
“It is a sign to the growth and development recorded since the current management led by the visionary Rector, Mr Femi Omokungbe, came into office in 2018.”
In January, YABATECH was also adjudged the best polytechnic in the country by Webometrics.
